Peningkatan Nilai Ekonomi Hasil Tangkapan Nelayan Pada Kepulauan Mentawai

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with abundant marine products. Therefore, the catches of fishermen must have more value and high competitiveness so that they can compete at the national and international levels. This community service is held in a fishing village in the Mentawai Islands. The provision of this service is important to be carried out in order to increase the income of fishermen by thinking about various aspects such as operational aspects, marketing aspects, and matters related to management. The method of providing service is by presenting material and discussing the problems faced. After this service was carried out, it was found that the community did not understand the importance of management aspects in increasing the economic value of their catch. It is hoped that after this service, the community can carry out the things described in the training and have a positive effect on the economy of the surrounding community.
